I had the pleasure of speaking with the legendary Mike Nussbaum at Northlight Theatre, just after a production of AWAKE AND SING! Mike plays the communist grandfather Jacob, in this 1935 classic drama and Tony-award winning play written by Clifford Odets. Mike and I talked about the economic struggle of this Jewish-American family during the depression, and how his character sees Marxism as the answer to the family’s problems.
